Roxbury Township,  Mr. Irving A Stanford, 86, died on October 30, 2011 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover.  He was born in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Canada and moved to Succasunna 60 years ago. He worked at the Hercules Powder Company and then as a carpenter at Picatinny Arsenal for many years. After his retirement in 1993, he continued to work in carpentry.

He was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Nichols) in 2007 and is survived by his 2 sons; Brian of Lk. Rogerene and Gerry A (and Melanie) of Succasunna. He also leaves his 5 brothers and sisters; Roland, Warner, Fred, Vera, and Irva Stanford, and by his 5 grandchildren; Nicholas, Christopher, Meghan, Victoria, and Teagan.

Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264)  davishepplewhitefh.com on Thursday from 3 – 5 & 7 – 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 1 pm, at the Funeral Home with the interment to follow at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery.
