Iris Bowen Keim, died on October 5, 2018 in Morristown, New Jersey

Iris Bowen Keim was born on July 28, 1932, on Oahu to H. Stevens “Steve” Bowen and Margaret Kuakoa Keppeler Bowen. Iris graduated from Punahou School in 1950 and Smith College in 1954, the year she married John Oram Keim, Jr.

She served for many years on the Watchung Hills Regional Hills High School Board of Education, as well as on the Passaic Township P.T.A. In 1962, Iris joined a book club, called The Reading Group, and finished the book for the next meeting the week she died. Iris died on Oct. 5, 2018.
Her husband, John, and sister, Lorna Clyde, predeceased her. She is survived by her son, John, daughter-in-law, Ines, grandson, Paul, granddaughter, Flora; daughter, Catherine; nieces Claire Waters and Maile Clyde, and many cousins.

A memorial service for Iris will be held at the Summit Unitarian Church on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. A reception at the church will follow. Iris’ and John’s ashes will be scattered in the ocean off Lanikai, her favorite beach.

Donations in Iris’ memory may be sent to Punahou School or Smith College.
