Mt. Arlington, Mrs. Irene Stephens, 98, died on September 5, 2018 at the Mount Arlington Senior Living Center, which she called “home”, and where she made many friends. She was born in New York City and lived most of her life in New Jersey, particularly Elizabeth, before moving to Mt. Arlington.  She was a retired Assistant Branch Manager at the Howard Savings Bank in Union, NJ. She was a member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Succasunna, NJ.

 She was predeceased by her husband Hernaldo Luciano  in 1988, and by her second husband Sheldon Stephens in 2005. She is survived by her daughter Diana (and Ronald) DeBlock of Stanhope, and 3 sons; Richard (and Angela) Luciano, Rodrigo (and Jean) Luciano, and Ralph Luciano, and her 11 grandchildren: Ronald Jr., Andrew, Roger, Michelle, Richard , Rodrigo, Adrianna, Marcus, Robert, Virginia, and Jack.  She is also survived by her 8 great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Michelle, Patrick, Daniel, Jakob, Samuel, Aubree, and Emma.

Irene was a fiercely independent, strong woman who loved her family, gardening, and cats.  Her family will especially miss her comical quips!
