George E Wimmer

Roxbury Township,   Mr. George E Wimmer, 73, died on September 10, 2011 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover after a courageous battle with cancer for 6 years. He was born and raised in Orange and moved to Succasunna 41 years ago. He graduated from Seton Hall University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. He then worked as a salesman for Sherwood Medical – Pfizer as an account executive winning many awards as their top salesman in their OEM Division selling to manufacturers of medical supplies, for 34 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R C Church in Flanders and charter member of the St. Therese R C Church Knights of Columbus. He also held his real estate license selling real estate in his spare time, and had many hobbies and enjoyed vacationing at his home on the Coast of Maine.

George is survived by his wife Kathie (Matter) of 47 years, 4 children; Don (and Cathy) of Westwood, Keith (and Julia) of Hackettstown, Kathleen (and Ken) Lajoie of Long Valley, and Linda Wimmer of Succasunna, and 6 granddaughters; Nora, Maggie, and Jamie Wimmer, Gabrielle and Ashley Lajoie, and Valerie Wimmer.

Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com  on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be on Wednesday, 10 am, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R C Church in Flanders, with interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Chester. Donations may be made in his name to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital (StJude.org ) or to an animal shelter of your choice.
