Eugene J Maione, Sr

 

Mine Hill, NJ Mr. Eugene John Maione, Sr, died on June 3, 2013 at his home. He was born in Patton, PA and lived in East Orange before moving to Mine Hill 26 years ago. He served in the U S Army Air Corps during WW II and then became a Commercial Contractor, starting his family business in 1953, Alumagene Construction Co. in East Orange until 1973. After retirement he wintered in Florida and summered in New Jersey. He was an avid golfer and earned his private pilots license. Following his retirement he became a Ranger at the Flanders Valley Golf Course where he was employed since 1993 up until his recent illness. He was also a member of the Top of N J R C airplane club. One of his favorite hobbies was designing, building and flying his own radio controlled model airplanes.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine Maione of 71 years, 3 children; Eugene, Jr. (and Margaret) Maione of Cheyenne, WY, Phyllis (and Bob) Dalglish of Morristown, and John (and Donna) Maione of Roxbury Township. He also leaves his 5 grandchildren; Robert Dalglish and Megan, Jonathan, Christopher, and Genna Maione, and great grandson Robbie Dalglish.

Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Thursday from 3 – 6 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, 9:30 am, at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, with the entombment to follow at the Hackettstown Cemetery.
