EMMA V. FANCHER

Emma Virginia Fancher died January 13, 2016 at the Markham House Retirement Community in Portland, Oregon. She was 94. She was born in Waterloo, New Jersey, later moved to Stanhope, and graduated from Netcong High School in 1939. After her marriage in 1946 to Ralph Fancher, they made their home in Kenvil, New Jersey.

Mrs. Fancher worked at Picatinny Arsenal in the 1940’s where she met her future husband. They resided in Kenvil for 60 years until health issues required them to relocate near their daughter’s home in Oregon in 2005. They were married for 63 years at the time of his death in 2009.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna for 68 years, where she taught Sunday School among other volunteer activities. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Starlight Chapter #107 O.E.S., and the Ever Young Seniors of Roxbury.

Survivors include her daughter Virginia and husband Norman Haugk of Lake Oswego, OR, three grandchildren, Brian (Kathy) of Renton, WA, David (Erika) of Poway, CA, and Laura (Chad) of Fall City, WA and three great grandsons, Jacob, Connor, and Christopher.

Friends may visit at the Davis-Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ, (973-584-7264) (www.davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 11:30 am – 1 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 99 Main St, Succasunna, NJ, with the interment to follow at the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna.
