Edna Mae Mazur

Hopatcong, On Tuesday June 2, 2020 Edna Mae Mazur (nee Sheridan) Entered into the Lords Hands peacefully, at St Clare’s Hospital Dover campus. She was the daughter of the Late Thomas and Charlotte (nee Sagendorf). Edna graduated from Barringer High School in Newark, NJ. She was then employed by Foodtown in Newark has a meat wrapper, this is where Edna met her to be husband George. They were married in 1963.  And having two Children Paula and George (Jeffrey). They then moved to Hopatcong, NJ in the 70s. Edna also worked for St Clare’s Hospital Denville campus as well as volunteer work. Edna was also a past member of the Hopatcong senior club and past President of the Lions Club chapt.6913 district 16N. Where she and the club held many fundraisers, activities and the small carnival every year at Horseshoe Lake for blind and disabled as well as diabetes foundation. Edna enjoyed Music. She loved to dance every thing from motown to symphony. Edna had the biggest Heart, and was very kind and sweet. She would help anyone in need. People found it very easy to talk to her. She enjoyed being social. Most of all she cherished her Family.

Edna is predeceased by her late husband George Mazur, Jr. In 2019. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Paula Slegers (Mazur) & Husband Arthur. Her son George “Jeffrey” and his wife Catherine of Florida.  And Her cherished Grandchildren Charles and his wife Jenna Marie, Christopher, Tyler, David and Bryan, and one Great granddaughter Dahlia Lyann. Edna also leaves behind Her Sister Barbara Gagne (Sheridan) and her husband Luc, her brother John Sheridan and his Wife Kathe, her late brother Robert and his wife Maureen of Maryland, a niece and several nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Out of the Abundance of Love and due to the restrictions of “Social Distancing” the family has prudently chosen to hold Edna’s services privately at this time.  Edna will be laid to rest at the Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ.  Edna’s Funeral Mass is by Pastor Merz at Church of Our Savior Stanhope.  All services are entrusted to and under the care of the Davis & Hepplewhite funeral home in Succasunna, NJ 07876.
