Springfield, VA   Dr. Beverly Ann Powell, 72, died on May 6, 2017 at the Inova Hospital in Fairfax, VA. She was born in Orange, NJ and lived in Livingston and the Oranges before moving to Virginia 45 years ago. She earned her Doctorate from Georgetown University in 1975 and became a Pediatrician/Special needs Pediatrics/Psychologist. She was a world traveler doing humanitarian work for many children.

She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Dorothy Powell, brother Frank J Powell, Sr., sister Dorothy Powell, and nephew Frank J Powell, Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Ann Powell of Flanders, nephews; Daniel B (and Mary) Powell of PA, Bryan C (and Flor) Powell of Roxbury Township, and niece Christine A (and Jimmy) Vones of Panther Valley, and grand niece and nephews; Aidan, Jackie, and Conor.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday rom 9 – 10 am. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, 10 am at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, with the interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Chester, NJ. Donations may be made in her name to the College of St Elizabeth’s Library in Convent Station, NJ or to the “SOME”, So Others Might Eat, in Washington, DC.
