Macungie, PA – Mrs. Claire T. Donnelly (née Nestor), 73, died on February 9, 2011 at her home following a prolonged lung illness subsequent to surviving pancreatic cancer. Claire was born and raised in Limerick City, Ireland and came to New York City in 1958. She lived in Succasunna NJ for 37 years, until she moved to Macungie PA in October, 2003. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna and served as the Secretary of the Church Building Committee during the 1980’s. Claire was also an active member of the St. Therese Home School Association, and the Irish American Club of Northwest Jersey. Claire was an Administrative Assistant at the County College of Morris in Randolph NJ until her retirement in 1997. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint.
 
She is survived by her husband Vincent of 48 years, 3 daughters; Nancy Westington and her husband Steve of Ridgefield, CT, Janet Donnelly Burgee and her husband Robert of Ellicott City, MD, Susan Bonner and her husband Dan of Bayonne, NJ; and her son Kevin Donnelly of New York City. She also leaves behind her sister Anna Doyle, and 3 brothers; Seamus Nestor, Paddy Nestor, and Cormac Nestor all in Ireland. Claire also leaves behind 2 loving grandchildren; Tara and Kailey Westington of Ridgefield, CT, and many loving nieces and nephews.
 
Friends may visit the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna, NJ (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com, on Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 2-6 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10 am, at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna with interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claire’s name to the Penn Medical Development, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Please indicate in the memo section that the funds should be intended for the Pulmonary Center.
