Roxbury Township, Mrs. Christine M Sweeney, 60, died on September 2, 2012 at home. She was born in Newark and grew up in Hanover, graduating from Hanover Park High School in 1970. She then moved to Succasunna 42 years ago. She was a secretary to the Guidance Director for the Morris Hills Regional District in Rockaway. She was also an active member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #391 in Mine Hill, American Legion Riders and Color Guard.

She is survived by her husband Gary R, of 41 years, 2 daughters; Jennifer (and Kevin) Sweeney Lewis of Sims, N C and Beth Sweeney Cerqueira of Succasunna, 3 grandchildren; Nicholas Cerqueira of Succasunna, and Lindsey and Jonathan Lewis of N C, her mother and father in law Ed and Iva Sweeney of Succasunna, brothers and sister in law; Ken (and Anne) Sweeney, Larry (and Debbie) Sweeney, and Linda (and Doug) Scherzer, all of N C.

Friends may visit at the Davis and Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main St., Succasunna (973-584-7264) davishepplewhitefh.com on Thursday from 4 – 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 10 am at the Succasunna United Methodist Church, 91 Main Street, Succasunna, with the interment to follow at the Church Cemetery.
