Charles W Denninger

Roxbury Township, Mr. Charles W Denninger, 86, died on September 2, 2017 at the Merry Heart Nursing Home in Succasunna, NJ. He was born and raised in Queens, NY and lived in Elmont, NY for 60 years before moving to Succasunna this year. He served in the U S Navy Reserves from 1951-1960 and was a self employed Provisions Dealer for Boar’s Head Provisions in Flushing, Queens, NY for 25 years. He was a member of St. Boniface R C Church in Elmont, LI, NY and was an avid bowler.

He was predeceased by his son Charles R Denninger in 1999. He is survived by his wife Alice Freund of 65 years, and 3 children; Richard J (and Deborah) Denninger of Denville, Catherine (and Kevin) Hughey of Wantagh, NY, and Theresa (and Joe) Mueller of Succasunna. He also leaves his sister Dorothy Hunter of Franklin Square, NY, brother-in-law Rev. John B Freund, C.M., 11 grandchildren; Charles V, Kristin, Thomas, Richard, Keith, Steven, Lauren, Kevin, Daniel, Matthew, and Michelle, and 9 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264  (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Monday from 3-6 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, 9:30 am at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna, with the interment to follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens, Queens, NY.
