Alfred M Walther

Mt. Arlington, Mr. Alfred M Walther, 75, died on August 12, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was born in Newark and lived in Parsippany before moving to Mt. Arlington in 1980, making this his final residence, a home he lovingly built himself.

He served in the U S Army National Guard from 1961-1966. He was the Owner – Baker – and Master Decorator of Danziger’s Majestic Bakery in Morristown for 30 years, winning honors for his cakes in the New Jersey Governor’s Inauguration Ball with customers regularly lining up around the block ! He later worked as an electrician and home renovator, never sitting still.

He was a life member of the Lake Hopatcong Ice Yacht Club, holding many active posts, and always hosting the annual meeting. He is proud to recall his National Championship for Yankee Class Ice Boating Competition. He was an avid catamaran sailor, still racing every Sunday morning on Lake Hopatcong up until his recent illness. His heart and passion remain here.

He is survived by his wife Emma May of 50 years, 2 sons; David Scott of Kenvil and Edward Glenn of Croton, NY, and his 4 grandsons. Full sails Dad – we miss you !
