Albert “Abbie” Ebner

Mine Hill, Mr. Albert G Ebner, 91, died on April 9, 2017 at the Morristown Medical Center. He “Abbie”, was born and raised in Dover and lived in Mine Hill most of his life. He was a 1944 graduate of Dover High School and later earned his BS Degree from N J I T in Engineering at night. He served in the U S Army Air Corps during WW II in Germany with the 18th squadron. He completed his apprenticeship and became a machine designer at the McKiernan-Terry Corporation in Dover. He then worked at Picatinny Arsenal as a supervisory engineer in the large caliber weapons systems division. He was a member and Past Master of the Dover Masonic Lodge F & A M, Acacia Lodge #20. He was also a member of the German Club in Dover, American Legion Post # 91 in Wharton, the VFW Post #2835 in Kenvil, a member of AARP and NARFE.

Abbie was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Margit “Kitty” Ebner, of 66 years, in 2014, and is survived by his sister Mary Jenkins of Dover, and adopted son Ronald F Regen of Rockaway, adopted daughter Susan Lundeen of Mine Hill, adopted brother Harold Morris of Dover, and the loving Largo family in Wharton. He also leaves several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 5 – 8 pm. The Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, 10 am, at the Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Basking Ridge. Donations may be made in his name to the Shriners Hospital.
